10 Days in Shanghai ◇ Photo Diary Pt. 2

I can' believe it's taken me this long to finally get part two of my Shanghai post (read part one here) and wait, it's already October? Alright, can't be distracted by pumpkin-everything thoughts right now and need to focus. During these past few weeks of leaving my blog untouched - my dad had actually gone to Shanghai for a visit and will be returning Monday. He'll be bringing back some of my favorite Shanghainese snacks and I can't wait! Maybe I'll do a post about all the delicious treats that Shanghai is known for. This will also give me a chance to redeem myself for not sharing what I brought back from my own trip. All the snacks I brought back disappeared so quickly that it was too late when I finally thought of taking pictures.

In the meantime, here is part two of my Shanghai post. I was sick halfway into the trip and had a 37.5C temperature on the days I went to Qibao Ancient Town and Disneyland. Though it caught up to me when I came back from the trip (I slept for 12 hours after arriving home), I was glad that being sick didn't stop me from doing everything I wanted in the end.  The last couple of days in Shanghai consisted of catching up with relatives that I haven't seen for a long time. My friend and I also did our hair since they're so cheap to do in China. The salon we went to offered haircuts for $5 and standard perms were only around $40. I once got a $30 haircut here in California...it now seems ridiculous that I paid so much for it. Anyway, here are the photos and a video at the end capturing my last five days in Shanghai. I desperately needed this to remind me of the amazing time I had on the trip.

EXTRAS
__________
A shot of two of my favorite things in Shanghai (the view and yogurt drinks with straws) before heading to the airport.

Just when we were leaving for the airport, it began to rain. Shanghai didn't want us to leave either.

My favorite childhood snack - chocolate and cream wafer rolls.

The pull-out design is so smart!

The oldest ice cream brand I've ever known. My grandparents loved this ever since they were kids.

A pizza bun at the Kansai Airport, where we had a layover that turned into a two hour flight delay.

The aftermath of what happened during the layover at the airport in Japan.
