Pieces of May | Monthly Round-Up

Hello, Hola, Koni'nichiwa! It's been a while since I've written on here. i'm getting May's monthly post up a week early because come this time next week, i'll be in...wait for it...New York! It's going to be my first time visiting the East Coast and my excitement level is through the roof. I'll be in  New York for seven days and my girl friends and i have planned lots of fun things to do. Of course, everything you do in New York is fun. Before every major trip, i always look forward to packing. Call me strange, but i thoroughly enjoy packing. I'm being completely serious about this. I'm the kind of person who will pack days in advance and repack constantly. Some may see it as unnecessary and excessive, i honestly think it's a little obsessive, but i can't help it. Packing builds anticipation for the trip and my logic is that the sooner i start on the packing, the closer i'll feel to leaving. My flight lands in New York at midnight tonight, and i don't think i'll be able to fully process the fact that i'm on the other side of the coast until the next day. On the verge of being delirious? i think so.

Pieces of April | Monthly Round-Up

Athleisure is a thing and I am all for it.

Time to start a new show? Tempting. Especially after listening to this.

I discovered so many good songs this month that I had to create a playlist.

Mother's Day prezzie.

Bringing my pom game.

My very first adult cookbook. I remember seeing it in the bookstore a year ago and thinking how pretty the pages were and now I've finally got myself a copy.

It's sick and twisted and just so happens to be the only show that I'm caught up on.

Sunday Eats #3

A quiet Sunday to myself called for some yummy homemade dishes.

Breakfast - 11:30 AM
Because I never wake up early enough on weekdays to have a proper breakfast, I always look forward to fixing myself a big one on weekend mornings. Breakfast was oatmeal with vanilla almond milk, cocoa powder, topped with blueberries, sliced bananas, kiwis, and peanut butter. I loved the way the creamy peanut butter melted into the warm oats.

Snack - 1:40 PM
Vanilla & cream yogurt from Trader Joe's and homemade chocolate banana muffin. The muffin is oil-free and sugar-free. I used applesauce and honey as substitutes.

Lunch - 4:15 PM
I had leftover veggie (mixed peppers and zucchini) red thai curry and quinoa from last night. I made a quinoa version of fried rice except it's with veggie curry. I also made baked avocado fries for the first time.

Dinner - 8:00 PM
I was craving for comfort Chinese food, so I made Mapo tofu and had it with Asian-style noodles. I ate the last of the cucumber slices topped with avocado and salmon left over from last night's dinner.

Dessert - 8:40 PM
I'm not vegan, but curiosity gets the best of me so I'm always trying dairy-free options. This time, I tried the So Delicious ice cream in Mocha Fudge Almond and topped it with sliced bananas. The ice cream tasted pretty close to the real thing and I wouldn't mind getting it again.

Do you like trying vegan options?

Spring Outfits | VIDEO

Now that spring has officially arrived, spoiling us west coasters with beautiful sunny weather and cool breeze, I can swap the sweaters and fleece leggings for flowy tops and short shorts. Whilst doing some light spring cleaning over the past weekend, I noticed that I've collected quite a decent number of new pieces for the warmer months. After all I did start my spring shopping early in the beginning of February. Here are 7 outfits for which I will be wearing this season.
